By having these materials in my classroom, my students will be able to learn to prepare meals for themselves and their families. This will allow them to be independent and it will prepare them for the transition into middle and high school so that they can prepare their own meals. The students will be able to use the pots and pans and the hot plate to be able to prepare meals. They will also use the pretense play food to be able to determine what a healthy meal looks like. By using these various pieces of cookware and utensils, the students will be able to prepare their meals. Students will be able to cook real food and prepare a meal in the classroom with this project. Various menus will be prepared once each week and students will be able to help prepare them.
