My digital natives will use the Chromebooks during small groups and centers to delve into the interactive components of our reading program. These interactive components will help students to become more proficient with writing and assessments using technology, which will help them to be successful on summative state tests that will be given electronically. It is difficult enough to equip them with the tools and confidence to be successful on standardized tests. It is even more challenging to prepare students to test electronically without daily access to technology. Chromebooks will allow me to set my students up for success and engage them in a way that is more familiar to them. Technology has the power to transform their learning experience by allowing more access to information, collaboration, and differentiation. Although all students may not have daily access to technology at home, most students are more engaged when presented the opportunity to interact with technology versus traditional paper and pencil assignments. With our Chromebooks, we will be able to support the development of successful readers and writers and ensure their success on electronic assessments. Students will be able to practice proficient reading and writing using technology, as well as troubleshooting basics.
