English Language Learners often need more time with tricky words and phrases and figurative language. These requested teaching cards from Lakeshore provide colorful, fun, and engaging ways for students to interact with new language. Learning English should be fun and my students will use dry erase markers, colorful boards, and illustrations along with these cards to make tricky language come to life. English Language Learners are tested in four domains: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. The English Language Development Activity Cards that I am requesting will help English language learners develop key skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening. The cards have a lesson on one side and an activity on the other and will be perfect to use with small groups. As kids complete the activities, they’ll build the skills and confidence they need to strengthen their daily use of English. The final requested resource is a English Language Development Speaking and Listening Comprehension Center to help my students build critical English language skills in the domain of listening. These resources will help our English Learners focus and improve upon all domains. Students will use these materials in the classroom during Stations time and in pull-out groups with the English as a New Language teacher. Thank you for taking time to read about our project.
