I work in a beautiful, rural county in Georgia. As a Georgia teacher in a low-income school, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. I have the privilege to teach a wonderful group of 19 second graders who come from many diverse backgrounds. My students are wonderfully creative and so very energetic. My school is a Title 1 school, meaning a large percentage of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Several of my students come from low income homes where it's a constant struggle to make ends meet. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep learning fun and engaging for my students. They may be faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom, but I want to show them they are the best and that they deserve the best.
