My classroom is located in a school, that is in a high poverty area. The students are not given access to a variety of books. Most students do not read books outside of an educational setting. The books are just not available in their home, because they are not considered a priority. I love to have a variety of books available to students. I do "loan" my books out to students to take home. I want to encourage a curiosity, and love for books! I am a writing teacher therefore, I inform students that reading and writing go hand-in-hand. The more they read, the better they will write!
