4K students LOVE to get their hands dirty, pretend play with their friends, and learn through exploration of new toys and experiences. A big part of our program is our unstructured "Free Choice" time when students choose their own adventures solo or with friends. The educational toys I've selected allow my students to learn the best way they know how-- through independent exploration and interaction with their peers. The art supplies I’ve selected are to support creative expression. The dress up clothes and props I selected will add variety to my dramatic play center to ignite imaginations. I chose water beads, water animal figures and water droppers for our sensory table. This is a place for children to explore different textures, classify items, etc. This center also helps children work on fine motor skills. For the educational toys, I selected a variety of literacy and math games and puzzles to help students learn the basics of counting, letter names and sounds, etc. With the addition of these items to our classroom, I will be able to rotate my centers (math, sensory table, dramatic play, writing, etc.) more often to offer new and exciting experiences!
