My class is truly amazing in their diversity and creativity. Out of 26 kids we have kids from all over the world, two from different parts of Africa. There are kids from every kind of background: refugees, adoptions, foster families, single parent homes, and the typical two parent home. Our class also is full inclusion, with student who have special needs. There are also 4 students diagnosed with ADHD but without medication. I have students two grades ahead in math and reading while I also have students below grade level. We are the true melting pot of America. And this is what I am most proud of. I promote the different strengths each individual can bring and look for ways I can bring their uniqueness into the classroom. We all agree that each child comes with separate needs, and what one needs may not be right for another. Some students need to sit closer the board, some need harder work, some need to fidget and move more.
