Technology is all around us but often overlooked in the elementary art class. While elementary art does and should predominantly consist of hands-on materials that help students feel what they are creating, elementary students should not be limited to traditional art supplies. Using iPads to photograph and upload their artworks to online art gallery apps, my students will be able to deepen their art vocabulary through art critiques and peer feedback, as well as give their art a larger art audience. My students will become accustomed to documenting their artwork, not only visually but also with coinciding artist statements. Incorporating technology into our existing program with strengthen my students' 21st century critical thinking skills. Combining researched and sound pedagogy with high-quality digital technology will allow my students to work toward these goals.
