Reading can be difficult or boring to middle school students. I want to use the books/audio books to conduct reading circles where students read or listen to a book then discuss their findings with each other. The class sets of books will be used to complete a novel as a whole class. As students begin to feel successful in their groups, and as a class, they will want to read on their own. I want to spark an interest in reading and therefore inspire them to read more. I will choose the literature for them to get started and then through encouragement and success they will be able to choose valuable literature for themselves.

About my class
