Our class is an ESE cluster, which means we have some students that have learning problems. We have a little boy that is a repeater and is still unable to read at a kindergarten level, but he has a gift for sewing and is so proud of the bear that he is making. We will then move on to writing a story about how the students' bears came to live with each student. These stories will be edited and type to be put on display outside our classroom. All the students in our school go to clubs on Friday, for a reward for good behavior. In first grade one of the most requested clubs is sewing. In the club, the students are taught basic sewing skills and then proceed to make a bean bag. Our school has 45% low income families, 18% ELL students, and 17% of students with disabilities. This is a public elementary school in Florida.
