My students must have access to decent literature in order to spark an interest in reading. Additionally, students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether the resources needed are available. The reading of classic works of literature, such as Jane Eyre, will help prepare students for college level reading, annotation, analysis and interpretation. My school media center doesn't have a large collection of books needed for the independent reading requirements of the AP course.
