This is not your typical history classroom! Our goal is to develop 21st century learners through lessons and activities that promote problem solving, inquiry, and critical thinking. Escape Rooms are completely student-centered. The teacher serves only as a facilitator, providing support as needed. The keychain flashlights, cipher disks, Google Cardboard, and other escape room items asked for will go a long way in developing a series of Escape Room activities for various units of study from the American Revolution to World War I. These activities allow for differentiation to meet the needs of all learners. All students deserve lessons that will challenge them to be better teammates, thinkers, and learners. The Escape Room project will motivate students to learn more content and encourage them to apply that knowledge to future learning.
