Many of the art lessons that I teach are cross-curricular. These lessons can be taken and associated with other information that is being taught in other classes like reading, science, social studies and more. Art helps students to make connections with this creative outlet. This, at times, helps students retain the information as they are using hands-on techniques. This information, in turn, may also help the students in other aspects of life. In the long run, these materials can greatly impact the students' learning all around for current and future classes. Students need a variety of materials in the art classroom to be able to practice different art techniques that include drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking. These projects allow the students to build their hand-eye coordination.
