My engaging, fifth grade students are eager young learners that need the motivation and interest to thrive in the area of reading literacy. Our classroom is full of lively conversation and the sharing of stories and adventures. However, my class struggles to see the connection of how literacy will directly accelerate their learning and ultimately benefit their lives. It would help for my students to see how literacy can capture imagination, share ideas globally, and communicate thoughts and feelings. This can be achieved by the use of technology which connects the learner to content, resources and systems needed to complete tasks in a creative, engaging learning environment. This project will help the students in my class strengthen the skills needed to become future leaders in a digital literacy age.
