I am a first year teacher for a third grade class with limited resources and few books donated. I would like to start the year off right with a great library of books where students can find a book on a subject they would enjoy reading. We need diverse, high quality literature for their library to encourage them to read. Our titles include The House on Mango Street, Matilda, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I’ve selected popular titles for kids for them, as well as Caldecott Award winners and high quality literature and picture books for character studies. Children need great books in subjects they like to encourage them to read. Accelerated Reader is a big progam in elementary school to encourage students to read. I hope to have a full and inviting library for my students.
