These headset microphones are compatible with the Chromebooks our school has and they will give students the unique opportunity to practice interpersonal speaking in the target language by recording themselves. By incorporating this technology into the world language classroom, students can play back their audio after recording to reflect and determine necessary adjustments, thus also improving their interpersonal listening skills. These headset microphones will also allow students to block out noise around them, giving them the ability to focus on their own practice and pronunciation without distraction. The headset microphones will build confidence and increase fluency as students practice speaking in the target language. This technology is also perfect for students with anxiety and those that do not yet feel comfortable speaking or presenting in Spanish in front of their peers. Students can record themselves in a more private setting, if needed. As a teacher, this technology is perfect for providing individual feedback to students. Students can use these headset microphones with platforms such as Google Voice or Audacity to send their recordings to the teacher. This can create in invaluable dialogue between teacher and student regarding areas for improvement and areas of success, thus allowing students to take ownership of their own language learning.
