My school's motto is "a great place to learn and grow". I try to help my students stay motivated and excited to learn in the speech/language room! However, that can be more challenging for kids that have extra energy or kids that have a hard time staying focused. Studies show that the ability to move around more while sitting will help students to be more attentive learners. My goal is to get the most out of my weekly speech therapy sessions with students. That means that I need them to be focused and attentive. It is my hope that these Hokki stools will allow students to 'get the wiggles out' and move around while learning! In my speech/language classroom I see kids with a variety of struggles. Attention issues such as ADD or ADHD can sometimes be the hardest struggles to overcome. With focus and attention I believe that all kids have the ability to learn and by providing these stools to my students I hope that I can move past my their attentional issues and start working to meet their individual goals.
