I have a diverse set of learners, ranging from students with disabilities to gifted learners. They are all eager to learn but several have sensory difficulties as well as a few students have anxiety issues. My classroom is set up for learning the curriculum but also to help my students get in touch with themselves as learners and citizens of the world. From birth to now, I have had issues with ADHD and anxiety so I know what it means to my students who suffer as well. In my eight years of teaching, I have allowed my students the freedom to move around the classroom without disrupting others. Giving students this opportunity to be comfortable also allows them to be successful in the classroom. I would love to provide my students with a range of seating choices so that they will be comfortable and successful. As of now, I have one soft couch in my room for 75 students. Please consider donating to our class’ seating needs.
