Literacy is my passion, and it is my goal to ensure that all of my students have a love for literacy! Data shows that there is an essential need for students to improve in their weaknesses in reading (specifically Informational texts) and writing, and offering a love for literacy will help encourage them to love reading and accomplish their goals! I am requesting the Scholastic News and the Leveled Non-Fiction books for my students to help them become proficient in Text Dependent Analysis and Text Dependent Questions, which is asking questions that force students to synthesize answers based on specific evidence within a reading passage and demonstrate their ability to interpret the meaning behind that evidence. I want to share my passion of literacy with my students so that literacy will become their passion! Great readers result in great writers! Your generous donation to our project will improve our 5th grade classroom by building stronger readers and writers.
