SCREAM Lab is a place where my first and second grade students are learning to be independent learners. My third, fourth, and fifth graders are refining independent goal-setting and reflection skills. We might FAIL, but First Attempts In Learning are what innovation is all about! Part of working in SCREAM Lab at any grade is setting a goal, monitoring progress, and being patient and cooperative with others. Students are learning iterative refinement in technical and social skills. It may sometimes be difficult to "wait for your turn" at coding a robot, or programming a game when it looks like so much fun but that is part of learning to collaborate and cooperate with others. With more materials, I know my students would be able to learn so much more. Your support of our efforts through Donor's Choose projects helps us become 21st century learners!
