I am a full time ESL teacher at Whitewater Middle School. I work with students who are immigrants--some of these students have been in the United States since they were born, others arrive in the country and a week later are in my classroom. I do my best to make sure that my room is a welcoming environment for these students and that they always feel that they have a safe space to come and adapt to the culture and learn another language. In my class we also focus on reading intervention for more established students who lack basic phonemic foundations. During these reading groups I work with EC students who have IEP plans as well as my English language students.
