My students are in Kindergarten at a rural, low income school. We all learn in many different ways, but my students enjoy hands on activities and reading the most! Our classroom lacks quality books, both fiction and non-fiction, for my students to enjoy, and our school and county are not always able to help support these needs. I would like to be able to differentiate more than I am able to do currently, so that I ensure that every single child in my class has been offered the information in a way that they can understand. Higher quality books will help me show examples of our lesson topics, as well as teach them about text features, encourage their "inner author", and show them how to do research and find information in books.
