My students are excited about bringing Guide Books to our curriculum this year. Instead of reading small pieces from novels, they will be reading many novels in their entirety. They will be exposed to a large amount of quality literature through the course of the year. There will be several opportunities for student collaboration daily in my lessons. The tables will provide ease of group and partner work. Right now, the desks have to be moved. It’s loud and can be dangerous. There have been many smashed fingers. With tables, the students can simply turn and talk. I hope to promote teamwork and socialization into my classroom while instilling a love of reading into my students.
