I am a speech-language pathologist at Belmont Street Community School. I provide speech/language services for 60-65 students ages 3-13. I see around 8 groups of 3-6 children each day- each group's lesson plan is different from the next. Students in my classroom work on comprehending spoken and written language, producing sounds correctly (such as the R or th sounds), increasing vocabulary, learning the parts of speech and proper usage, learning to communicate in alternative ways (such as a communication board for children who have minimal/no verbal language), learning social rules of communication, becoming more fluent and accepting of their disability (for children who stutter), etc..
