I have taught PreK, 1st, and 4th grades, and I have to tell you, PreK kids are the BEST. They are so excited to come to school and learn. Everything is new and wonderful in their eyes. Most of my kids come from Spanish speaking households that aren't very well off. What they lack in things, they make up with enthusiasm! Everyday I get a little love note, or drawing. They are so full of love and hope. They inspire me and keep me going even on the roughest day. I strive to give them a top notch education. I want it to be on par with the education private schools give their students. My students' parents are so kind and supportive with what little they have. They are always asking what else they can do to help their child do well. If we are doing a class project or planning something special, they all clamor to chip in. Last year, one family came in and helped me pack up my room! Best present ever! PreK is #1 to me!
