My classroom is set up based around how my students learn and will succeed. A lot of students struggle to sit at a regular desk in a regular chair. It's uncomfortable and let's be honest no one likes to sit at a desk. We are requesting cushions, stools, and lap desks, My students love to have the freedom to make a choice and to learn what works best for them. By getting the different types of seating in my classroom, I am allowing my students to have a say in their education. The stools would be used for the small group time, allowing the students to move the stool to be closer to the group and to myself. The cushions and the lap desks allow the students the freedom to sit anywhere in the classroom. The option to pick their own learning spot allows them to move freely, find an environment where they will succeed and stay focused. The yoga balls will help my students who are always on the move, stay and focus on their tasks at hand. The seating for my students isn't just about where in the room they will sit, it is about learning about themselves. Having options and having to make decisions will not only set my students up for success in the classroom, but also in their daily lives.
