We are a grade 2 classroom in an urban school district where the poverty level is very high. My class is made up of 21 students from diverse backgrounds. It is truly a multicultural place that is represented by many countries from around the world, and many of our students are immigrants or first-generation Americans. In my classroom, the children know they are loved and appreciated for who they are. Each day I challenge the them to reach their own personal best, and I strive to give our students academic and character skills they will need to succeed in an ever-changing world.
