Many of my students are on different academic levels. My students learning levels range from Kindergarten to 8th grade. It is very difficult to reach all learners with the traditional whole class instruction. When students don't understand the topic, many of them will become disengaged from school. They will act out mask their lack of understanding. This results in them not being interested in school and eventually not coming to school. I've found through small group instruction that I can more of my students by using resources that are appropriate for their academic ability. One of the most useful tools I use is the Chromebooks. A few of the programs that we use have audio features that explain the topics. The best thing about the programs we use is that they will teach topics on my student's ability level. Unfortunately for my students who are grade levels way below their colleagues, this can be embarrassing to them for other students to hear what they are working on. With a classroom set of headphones, each student can work on assignments at their own levels without other students hearing what they are working on.
