Flexible seating has really taken off the last few years. I feel like giving my students a chance to get out of their everyday desk is a great way to improve classroom work ethic, community, and improvement for the love of reading and learning. I have a couple options already in my classroom, but the students often end up arguing over what I have. I would love to give them more of a choice. Giving this opportunity to more students throughout the day will provide them with a place to relax and enjoy their books, cool down students that may need a minute to relax and a way for students to build a strong reading and writing community. I would also like the flexibility for some of my students that are often distracted or distract others to be moved around the classroom where they will be able to concentrate. I have asked for a couple bean bag chairs for our reading corner, six take anywhere chairs that could be used anywhere in the classroom, five portable lap desk, a couple chair disk to help with squirmy students, and three ball chairs. My students are going to love these options for flexible seating and I can't wait to see them enjoying their new seats while reading their favorite books!
