The girls of Solar Prep want to learn to play the African drums. Our school has an opportunity from African Dance during Black History Month. To have drums, we will have the ability to provide drum circles throughout the entire school year. Drum circles brings about unity and connection within the classroom community. This is particularly important in an all-female environment. They will also be able to do team and independent work to build musicianship and to be able to practice socialization. Additionally, scholars will give scholars a chance to play drums in class rather than waiting on the percussion unit comes up in their Music Class curriculum.

About my class
