My students are in first and second grade, and are some of the most caring, excited, and friendly children I have ever met. They are extremely creative and imaginative individuals that thrive in flexible classrooms that provide them opportunities to learn in various ways. All of my students have special needs, and most of them are also English Language Learners. Walsh School is a wonderful school located in an urban area. Most of our students are English Language Learners and of low socioeconomic status. My school strives to provide students the necessary foundational skills to become critical thinkers that will later be productive, contributing citizens to their community. Every teacher in my school always puts students' needs first, and is dedicated to learning how to best adapt their teaching styles to meet our students' needs. Teachers are constantly trying to better their pedagogy by researching current classroom practices to engage children of the 21st century.
