Providing students with the tools they need to regulate their behaviors and access academics is the main purpose of our program. These items will be used to create an inviting, dual-use mini-library for my high-risk students to de-escalate, regroup, find peace, and be inspired. My students need a space that encourages them to walk away from an escalating situation and find their calm. This room will become a temporary cooling-off place, so they can return to the classroom and participate successfully. Utilizing it as a mini-library within our building allows us to encourage literacy as well as preserve the positivity of this space.

About my class
