With the use of alternative seating options, I feel that this will provide my students with an alternative means to eradicate spontaneous movements and distractions. When I work with my second and third grade students that are having difficulties in reading, I have found that a majority of them are still struggling with basic sight word recognition. I would love to implement the use of the sight word sentences manipulative, that I have requested, to help students practice reading their sight words. I have also found that numerous students still struggle with identifying and counting money. The money equivalency puzzles will help students not only be able to identify the different coins and dollars, but be able to practice counting and telling their different values. The giant activity dice will be utilized in numerous stations for reading and math such as Roll the Dice Sight Word, Roll and Read it Sight Word Sentence, and basic addition, subtraction, and multiplication stations. By using these hands on manipulatives and demonstration methods it will help my students to remember and connect to the different standards being taught.
