This year, 2020-21, Grady High School is making AP Comparative Government available to students again! I am excited to teach the course to 11th and 12th graders this year. At the University of Notre Dame, I studied political science and specialized in comparative politics, so the opportunity to teach this class is special to me. AP Comparative Government will push students to develop the tools they need to analyze and evaluate the world's constantly changing political environment for the rest of their lives. My request, with the help of supporters of DonorsChoose, is for money to order up-to-date textbooks for my reference as a teacher. This will be my 10th year of teaching, and over the years I have learned to develop engaging lesson plans focused on inciting debate and student participation. My plan for AP Comparative Government will to have class be as active as possible. However, with course content as challenging as AP Comparative Government I need the best possible reference texts to guide my planning. Students will not be following a textbook closely, but having a teacher copy is essential to my ability to organize the course and provide readings at various points.
