As a teacher at the first all girls charter school in Georgia, I work tirelessly to empower my scholars daily. I am a graduate of Spelman College, an all women's historically black college (HBCU). As a young adult, this environment nurtured and empowered me to become the strong Black woman that I am today. I want to provide my scholars with the same nurturing environment that I experienced. My school is a Title I school and amidst the challenges many of the girl's may face in their home life, school is a respite and source of encouragement. Unfortunately, the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted everything and we are beginning the school year utilizing remote learning. The scholars are in need of noise cancelling headphones that will cut down on distractions from learning.
