Dream Bigger, climb higher! My school is located in a struggling urban area surrounded by more affluent suburbs. The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. For many students, English is a second language and meeting the high expectations of the Common Core of State Standards is an often daunting and frustrating task. The effort I see each day is exemplary but you don't get graded on effort anymore. Our staff works tirelessly to ensure all students' needs are met socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. The students that we teach will thrive in an environment that values respect for self, others and our school. However, something is missing in the equation. To put it plan and simply, more resources are needed to meet the needs of my students. The "game field" is not level. It's time we create equality in education for all. You can support this change.
