In our classroom, we have a "First, Then" motto--first we support the student to be successful completing an academic, communication or social task, then we give the student choices for activities they enjoy. They really enjoy selecting fruit snacks and crackers together! Their language and social skills have grown so much, but our pantry is almost bare! We are asking for your help to replenish our supplies so our students can continue learning, sharing and snacking together! The students with autism that we serve in our room learn best when they have choices following completing assigned tasks. A current favorite choice is playing with Theraputty--a bonus is that it develops fine motor strength so important for writing!!
