Working with preschool students, I feel that this will help these students who need that extra support calming their bodies by giving them different sensory toy options to see what works best when they are anxious, upset, frustrated, or just need something to touch due to their disability. My office is also the only place that does not have a calming area for the kids to go to when they need it. I also want to provide parents with some sensory toys at home if this works to see if this will help their child focus or have calm bodies if the parents need that extra support or when they bring them to school having a rough morning. All students are different, so having options for calming toys can help students find what works best when they need it. The age group that I work with who are 3 to 5 years old. Young children are still learning daily, some people find it difficult to go to school and leave their parents, so sometimes they get upset so it takes them a while to calm their bodies and others are still learning social skills this can also help parents and myself when I pull kids to work one on one with them be focused and ready if they are started off with a rough day.
