My students are some of the most amazing students that I have yet to encounter in my teaching career. Having worked in a Title 1 school where most, if not all, of my students were below grade level, it was refreshing to start work in a school where students were inquisitive and were reading at or above their grade levels. From kindergarteners talking about the solar system, and how their name is a constellation, to 2nd graders reading "The Life of Pi" for their summer reading, my students never cease to amaze me. Our school is a non-profit, public charter school, so the resources that the students have access to are limited. However, although limited in resources, our teachers and students are not limited in their love for learning and in the imaginative ways in which learning is presented. As a projects based learning school, resources are essential to the growth of our students and the success of our classrooms.
