My students are from diverse backgrounds and life paths. Their experiences and stories enrich my physics classroom. The school is located close to the Mexico border and in a vibrant harbor city. The uniting theme of my 9th graders is curiosity about the world around them. My students enter my class as equals with expectation they are engineers from the moment they step through my classroom door. My physics class of hands-on designing, prototyping and building. The regular supplies of straws, duct tape, brads and rulers are transformed into the tools of engineers. My students design, prototype and understand the all physics behind their projects.
