Students these days are inundated with social media. Do you think reading will become less important in the future? If we don't provide students, specially high school students, with high interest, up-to-date reading selections that they can think about, relate to, and discuss, how do we ever expect them to be compassionate, caring, productive citizens? They stare at their phones and don't always think about the consequences of what is posted. They must be exposed to more opposing views, and various information and perceptions if they are to become the leaders of our future, we need them to value reading, the power of reading, and thinking about their reading, rather than artificial intelligence.

About my class
