My students come from a wide range of situations. We are located in a rural setting and many of my students live and/or work on a farm. I have students who are socially and economically disadvantaged, living in one room buildings with no running water whose parents can barely put food on the table, let alone think about saving for college. I also have students who will go to college and never have to take out a single loan because their parents are so well off and understand the value of an advanced education. Our school serves both of these students well. However, not much money has been spent to keep our technology up-to-date to assist teachers in new, research-based learning models such as flipped learning.
