As a 3rd grade teacher, my main goal is to develop a sense of community, safety, and love of learning. With distance learning this Fall, I want my students to still feel a lot of that, even while learning from home. Reading chapter books to my students when they all have their own copy, helps develop their fluency and comprehension tremendously. They will be following along in their chapter book as I change my voice for each character, give them literature circle activities through Zoom, and so much more. Novel studies are the gateway to higher-level thinking, and I'm so excited to get started with them.
