Donations for this easel will directly impact 28 fourth graders daily and all year long. Research shows that when students can be directly involved in the creation and design of learning (such as creating anchor charts for around the room), they have greater retention of the content that was covered. Fourth grade is an age where it is my responsibility to release some of the ownership and responsibility of learning to the students. Having an easel that can easily be used during small group differentiation and whole group lessons will enable the students to create posters for around our classroom about the many facts, strategies, and learning objectives they need to know as a 4th grader.

About my class
