These flexible seating options will help my students feel more comfortable in our classroom space, which will greatly impact their ability to succeed. More specifically, I encourage independent reading in my classroom because research shows that it helps students in all areas of school. In order to encourage reading, I try to create a cozy classroom space that facilitates a culture of reading. Having flexible seating makes students more relaxed and able to read more easily. Even middle schoolers love to be able to move around the room to do their work, and having these seating options would totally change what I am able to do with my students.
