My students are participating in a Decision Day event in which they will be celebrating their decision to SIR and pursue higher education. We are planning on making a basket out of the school supplies then raffling of both the basket and laptop. Doing this will make an impact in the lives of our students because most of our students cannot afford laptops so by providing one, it will ultimately improve how they do their work and allow them the agency to succeed in college because owning a laptop is significant to student success. In addition, the school supplies we offer will benefit the student because being that our students are low-income, it will be less money their parents have to spend on supplies and the student will start college by being properly prepared with the most basic necessities.
