Information is always the key to success. Children learn in different ways. Some students are visual learners, some are auditory, and some are kinesthetic learners. In other words, all students are created equally and differently. So, the learning environment must also be created equally and differently. Our school has implemented the One to One policy where every student will receive a chromebook to use in class. This is where the headphones come into play. Through the use of headphones, I will be able to differentiate learning in order to cater to each student's learning style. When everyone in my classroom is using headphones, they are better able to select the learning option that best suits them best. Each students will be reading at their own lexile level and at their own pace without disturbing those around them. For example one student can learn a variety of facts through song or games on their chromebooks, while others may do their own research with an audio option. The headphones I am requesting will create a distraction-free learning experience especially during testing. For example, most of my quizzes, tests and benchmark tests are given electronically. The use of headphones will be ideal in creating a silent environment that is very conducive to test taking. This would help my students to perform better in classroom and standardized tests. My students are reluctant learners who have made some bad choices in life. As their teacher, I have to be the one who motivates them by making my lessons inviting an encourage them to keep on learning. Headphones can change their educational experience for the better and help each child reach their full potential.
