The atmosphere of a positive learning environment is crucial in letting students know they are in an organized classroom setting. The physical set-up of the classroom plays a role in this as well. The physical set-up of a classroom is important because it is the first thing a student sees when they walk in. My students need flexible seating such as the balance balls and stools and colorful classroom posters to make the classroom feel exciting and welcoming. Organization is key in fourth grade. By allowing them to set up storage cubes as well as file carts and plastic bins, I am setting up my students for a successful year. Disorganization can lead to missed deadlines, late charges and lost opportunities. I want to combat this by giving the students all the materials they need such as headphones, and using a label maker to label everything and stay organized. We believe organization is the key to success!
