According to Psychology Today, children ages 3 to 12 explore their lives and freely express repressed thoughts and emotions through play. The goal is to help children learn to express themselves in healthier ways, become more respectful and empathetic, and discover new and more positive ways to solve problems. During counseling sessions, students will participate in play activities and I would observe how the student expresses his or her thoughts and feelings. Play is the most secure method of expression students have, so by adding more tools to my counseling toolbox, I will be able to help more students through this counseling initiative.

About my class
