My students find success in learning to read in a small group, special education setting. Many of the students spend all three years of middle school in my reading class and make amazing progress in their skills by the time they move to high school. Their abilities range from kindergarten through third grade reading levels with a mixture of Learning Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and Autism. Many students do not see themselves as readers yet, and they need encouragement to believe they can be successful.
